Ted Lucki: Mayor
Enthusiastic Mayor since 2004. Served as Trustee for 2 years, ZBA member for four years. Former Board of Education Member for Port Jefferson School District. Owns and operates Riverhead Toyota, Ford, Lincoln, Mercury. Met a beautiful Belle Terre Native at Cornell University and has raised three children with wife Lori Sternlicht-Lucki in Belle Terre for the last 20 years. Has a Cocker Spaniel named "Chu Chu".
Sheila Knapp: Deputy Mayor
Sheila is a Long Island native, graduating from Garden City High School in Nassau County. She attended Oneonta State teachers college. Sheila and her family moved to Belle Terre in 1936 where she has lived ever since. She was hired by Capital Airlines that later became United Airlines. Sheila retired in 1995 after a successful 38 years supervising and managing the cargo department for United at Newark airport. She took an interest in the beach in 1977 and applied for the Belle Terre Beach Commissioner position. She has served as beach commissioner for 29 years. Sheila was appointed as Trustee in 1997 and elected to her first term in 1998.
Robert Sandak: Trustee
Bob Sandak was born and raised in Brooklyn where he attended Brooklyn Technical High School and Brooklyn College. He studied industrial engineering at CCNY and later earned graduate degrees in Education and Administration from Dowling College and C.W. Post. Bob, his wife Ruth, and their two sons lived in Coram for 29 years. They fulfilled their dream of moving to Belle Terre in 1998. Bob spent 38 years in the field of education as a teacher (elementary school and secondary math and science) and curriculum supervisor. He retired, in 2002, after 13 years as Deputy Superintendent of Schools. He currently works as a school district consultant, assisting Boards of Education with capital improvement bonds, construction and financial matters. Bob enjoys world travel, photography, fishing, woodworking and gardening. He has served as Village Trustee since June of 2004. Bob is delighted to serve the residents of the Village of Belle Terre and is particularly proud of his appointment to the position of Constabulary Commissioner.
Grant Geelan: Trustee
Grant is a native New Yorker, born and raised in Queens. He graduated from St. John's Prep in Brooklyn and Farmingdale State University. Grant served in the U.S. Navy on the Aircraft Carrier Tarawa (peacetime). He married Patricia in 1962 and has six children and eight grandchildren. The family moved to Port Jeff Station in 1965 and to Belle Terre in 1997. Grant recently retired from a company he co-founded in 1961 after 44 years as president. Past president of both local and state contractors associations. Served on four national contractor’s committees and as a management trustee on various union funds. Enthusiastically enjoys sports activities with the grandchildren, family events, and residing in Belle Terre. Grant was appointed trustee in 2005 and elected in 2006.
Michael Sampogna: Trustee
Mike Sampogna is a native Long Islander who grew up in Carle Place. He attended Nassau Community College and Rider University. Mike was married to his wife Kathy in 1985. They have a daughter Lauren, son James, and granddaughter Kyla. Mike is Vice President of Global Business Continuity Management for CA Technologies (formerly Computer Associates). He has over 30 years of experience in I/T Infrastructure, Operations, Business Continuity Management and Disaster Recovery Planning, and, Systems Administration. Prior to joining CA Technologies, Mike worked for YUM Brands, PepsiCo, Philip Morris, and Cadbury Schweppes. He began his technology career at Nassau Community College working in their data center and as an adjunct teacher. Mike and his family moved to Belle Terre in 2002 after working for PepsiCo/Yum Brands in Dallas, Texas. He enjoys fishing, boating and snow skiing, and is a Jets Fan. His hobbies include carpentry and home improvement. Mike is a board member and Vice President of the Contingency Planning Exchange of Long Island (CPE-LI), a member of the Port Jefferson Coast Guard Auxiliary, and served on the Belle Terre Community Association Board.
